Freshman year of college can be quite the transition…different environment, meeting new people, heavy class schedule, competition in sports and the arts…but how about being diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) too?
Jared received this news on December 18th, 2015, near the end of his first semester at Paul Smith’s College in the Adirondacks. Jared then spent time at the Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer at Albany Medical, followed by 9 months treatments, considering of chemotherapy, blood and platelet transfusions, and spinal taps. In September of 2016 Jared graduated to the maintenance phase of his cancer, and will be completed by March of 2019.
Jared has now returned to the classroom at Fulton-Montgomery Community College, and continues to be an amazing brother to 4 sisters!
